Is my kitchen big enough to host a cooking party?

If you've got room for your guests to stand or sit comfortably, your kitchen is big enough.

Are your lessons demonstration style or do we get to actually do it ourselves?

Cooking parties can be designed to be hands on, or observation only, but most guests decide once they arrive if they would like to participate or just watch.

What if I don't know how to cook at all?

Even better! I have some great ideas for simple, delicious dishes that can be prepared by anyone.

What if I have only basic cooking equipment?
I subscribe to the adage: "do what you can with what you have".
I will bring along any necessary equipment and use whatever you have in order to "make do".

Will I get copies of the recipes to take home or do I have to write everything down myself?

I hand out copies of all the recipes plus any other information at the beginning of each class and there is space in your booklet so you can follow along and make notes if you wish. In-home cooking classes and cooking parties are informal so there’s lots of time to chat and ask questions whenever you’d like.

Will I get to eat?

Of course!
If you are involved in a cooking party, you will probably be eating a three-course meal!

How do I book a party ?

You can call or email me to check availability of your preferred dates.
Then we will work out the details of what you'd like to eat and learn to make, or what kind of theme you'd like for your party.
I require a 50% deposit at the time of booking, and the remaining balance is due 48 hours before the scheduled date. Payment can be by cash or cheque.

I just received a gift certificate can I apply that to the cost of a cooking party?

Yes you can, just let me know at the time of booking, and I'll credit you the appropriate amount.

Are you willing to travel outside of the Vancouver area ?

Yes, as a matter of fact, I will travel as far as Victoria to do parties and classes, but there is a surcharge to cover my travel costs (i.e. ferry and extra gas).

Do you serve?

No, I cook, but I can arrange to have a server(s) at an hourly rate.

Do you clean up?

I will leave your kitchen clean, tidy and organized.
